We are the Birthworkers of Dubuque. We serve clients within an hour radius of this area. We are comprised of a wide array of backgrounds as well as services. We have Professionals trained in Birth Preparation, Childbirth Support and Postpartum Guidance . We have come together in recent years to build a birth community within our community. We understand how important birth is and the lasting impression it can have on a woman's life. We hope to provide nothing but a positive supportive presence in our community as well as the services that we offer.

Lacy Knipper
Birth Specialist
Lacy Knipper is a Certified Childbirth Educator and Prenatal Yoga Instructor, specializing in natural approaches in pregnancy and birth. As an educator, her goal is for students to feel confident, prepared, and informed in making the best decisions for their family.
Lacy enjoys sharing the practice of prenatal yoga with expecting mothers, and is honored to work with families during this special time in their lives!
Dr. Mickie Yager DC,CACCP
Chiropractor
Dr. Mickie Yager is a family practitioner with an emphasis on perinatal care and pediatrics. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree and Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Dr. Yager practices several hands-on chiropractic techniques, including Gonstead. She is certified in the Webster technique as well. Dr. Yager earned her certification in pediatrics and perinatal care from the Academy of Family Practice and Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics.
Becky Franzen IBCLC
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
Becky Franzen earned her International Board Certification as a Lactation Consultant, and has been a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) for three years, a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for Wisconsin WIC for five years and has completed a 300-hour internship in lactation.
Andrea Grace LMT Doula

Andrea's passion for birth began with the birth of her son in 2007. Just a few months after her son was born, Andrea became a Birth Doula. She counsels women throughout pregnancy and supports women through labor, birth and beyond. She believes that if mom’s feel supported and happy with their birth experience that they, in turn, will be more Empowered as mothers and nurture healthier, happier babies.
Andrea is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. This art is a natural addition to the tapestry of holistic work that she does. Andrea is led by intuitive hands and an intentional healing energy. Currently, Andrea is learning the skill of Midwifery.
Dr. Leslie Kremer
Birth Healing Specialist
Offering over 15 years of experience as a physical therapist with a specialization in pelvic health.
Combining multiple specializations including pelvic floor therapy, spinning babies, craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation.
Dr. Leslie received her MS PT degree from Clarke College in 2002 and Doctor of PT degree in 2013
through Des Moines University. When she is not in the clinic she enjoys walking, biking, running, pilates, and yoga. She lives with her husband and 4 daughters.
Megan Gross CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Megan graduated with a BSN from Bethel University in St. Paul in 2011, then worked for her MSN and become a certified nurse-midwife in 2014. I became passionate about providing postpartum care especially for women during that time. My passion for midwifery came naturally and evolved over time. For many years I have supported women through women's health concerns, fertility support, prenatal and postpartum care. I can't wait to help you achieve your dreams!
Jessica Hanson LMHC

My experience as a therapist makes me well suited to address issues surrounding various areas of mental health; such as, clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and other disruptions in
mood. My work focuses on life's journey. Traveling with my clients through the ups, downs and detours life often throws at us. I have experience working with areas specific to mental health
symptomology, perinatal mood and anxiety, women's specific needs and issues specific to adolescent development.
My training utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Interventions. I work with clients to alleviate disruptive symptoms through
solution focused interventions and challenging destructive methods of coping. I am certified as a Level II EMDR Clinician. I have also completed training with with Postpartum Support
International to address concerns related to Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
Stephanie Grutz, ARNP, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner
Stephanie is a board certified family nurse practitioner, specializing in integrative medicine. She was born and raised in Dubuque and loves watching the constant growth and transformation of this City. She is excited to be back in town with a newly built clinic (Balance Integrative Health & Wellness), and is excited to work with other providers in the community to make Dubuque one of the healthiest places to live!

Kristi Norman is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Educator, based in Dubuque, IA. She offers one-to-one healing sessions and a variety of both online and in-person classes and circles. Kristi’s specialty areas include: Fertility Enhancement, Perinatal Wellness, Holistic Reproductive Care, and Digestive Wellness. She is a practitioner of Maya Abdominal Therapy, Intuitive Energywork/Reiki, Flower Essences, Astrology, and a student of Homeopathy. Kristi believes in the power of the body to heal itself, when given the support and encouragement it needs.

Kelly has wanted to be a mom for as long as she can remember. Kelly had such positive experiences with her own labor and deliveries, and she wishes to help others feel confident and empowered through their journeys. Kelly’s non-judgmental care and compassion will help families await the special Birth Day and feel secure as they settle in as a family! Kelly loves to celebrate life, and every day is an adventure! She resides on their family farm with her husband, Joe, of 19 years, and their five children.
Their children are their most precious blessings! Kelly’s favorite quote is “I still remember when I prayed for all the things I have now.”
Kelly just recently earned a Certification as a Lactation Specialist, she now offers home visits to moms in need.
Riley Andrews LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Riley is a licensed mental health counselor, specializing in perinatal mental health. Since 2017, Riley has been providing therapy, educational classes and support groups to mamas and their partners. Riley's goal in working with mammas and their partners is to address concerns at their onset, preventing adverse childhood experiences for the baby, as well as, cultivating healthy and happy families.
Riley's work history has also provided her with much experience in working with families, couples, adults, and adolescents, through a variety of mental health goals.
Riley uses a compassionate and empathetic approach with every client, using counseling techniques that are applied from a variety of treatment modalities, to best fit the needs of each client.
